Job summary

Placon is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician in Plymouth, MN to keep high‑speed production running. You will perform mechanical, electrical, and controls maintenance, read schematics, and implement preventive programs.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial maintenance or 6+ years with increasing complexity, and involves safe operation of forklifts and welding, with a 5:00 am start time on site.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electro‑Mechanical Technology or Industrial Electronics or related field.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience OR 6+ years of increasingly complex maintenance experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and PLC Ladder logic.
• Solid understanding of PLCs, servo systems, and automated machine controls.
• Experience with electronic test equipment, welding and hand/power tools.
• Forklift operation and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide breakdown, corrective, and preventive maintenance on electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex production and auxiliary equipment with minimal supervision.
• Integrate electrical control systems for new/rebuilt machinery and process improvements.
• Build, rebuild, install and fabricate electronic control systems.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes (OSHA, NEC, LOTO) and cooperate with team.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Lead to execute work orders and improve operations.
