HTI is hiring an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a leading automotive manufacturer in Piedmont, SC. You'll be the go-to expert who keeps production assets, building systems, and utilities operating safely and reliably.

  • Associate's degree or 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in lieu of degree.
  • Advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and fabrication disciplines.
  • Ability to mentor peers and share best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to pinpoint faults.
  • Diagnose/repair hydraulics and pneumatics; replace/upgrade components.
  • Replace bearings, bushings, slides; troubleshoot and swap pumps and motors.
  • Maintain air compressors, chillers, evaporators, and coolant systems.
  • Service and repair servo amplifiers and servo motors.
  • Weld (MIG/TIG/stick) for equipment repairs or improvements.
  • Fabricate with shop tools and fixtures.
  • Use PLC ladder logic to track faults and restore production.
  • Support CNC turning centers and grinders; create machine backups.
  • Troubleshoot VFDs and associated motors.
  • Analyze performance after rebuilds and dial in final adjustments.
  • Order parts and coordinate schedules.
  • Maintain 5S across maintenance/facility areas; manage spares.

Job description

Keep a high-volume plant running at full strength. HTI is hiring an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a leading automotive manufacturer in Piedmont, SC. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert who keeps production assets, building systems, and utilities operating safely and reliably.

Pay & schedule

Compensation: up to $32.38/hour (DOE) Shift options: 2nd or 3rd shift Shift differential: +$2.00/hour for off shifts

A day in the life

You arrive, review overnight work orders, and prioritize critical assets. From reading electrical/mechanical prints to diagnosing a noisy spindle, you'll move between CNC cells, compressors, and facility systems - solving problems fast and documenting fixes. You'll coordinate parts and scheduling with minimal oversight, coach teammates, and close the shift with solid 5S and a clear plan for what's next.

What you'll work on
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to pinpoint faults
  • Diagnose/repair hydraulics and pneumatics; replace, modify, or upgrade components
  • Replace bearings, bushings, slides; troubleshoot and swap pumps and motors
  • Maintain air compressors, chillers, evaporators, and coolant systems
  • Service and repair servo amplifiers and servo motors with minimal assistance
  • Weld (MIG/TIG/stick) for equipment repairs or improvements (plus)
  • Fabricate with shear, brake, saws, drills, and other shop tools
  • Use PLC ladder logic to track faults and restore production
  • Support CNC turning centers and grinders, including creating/restoring machine backups
  • Troubleshoot VFDs and associated motors
  • Analyze performance after rebuilds/refurbs and dial in final adjustments
  • Independently order parts and coordinate schedules
  • Maintain 5S across maintenance/facility areas; organize spares with rebuild shops
  • Train and assist others; support project crews and facilities as needed
What you bring
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college/technical school preferred; or 3-5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in lieu of degree
  • Advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and fabrication disciplines
  • Ability to mentor peers and share best practices
