Schwan's Company in Pasadena, TX is hiring for a full-time maintenance technician to lead preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyor systems and production machinery. The role involves major equipment repairs, fabrication, and installation projects to ensure continuous plant operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of related experience, advanced mechanical knowledge, and CNC programming/welding skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year degree in a maintenance trade preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience in maintenance.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge and electrical/building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery.
• Execute major equipment repairs, fabrication, construction, and installation projects, including welding to food-safe standards.
• Diagnose mechanical issues via inspection and precision tools; interpret schematics.
• Fabricate and maintain plant components using lathes, shears, benders, and welding equipment.
• Provide training to production teams on maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and ensure safety.
• Support compliance with safety and operational protocols.

Starting Pay: $33.50 - $37.50 per hour Hours: Sunday - Tuesday 6pm - 6:30 am Wednesday 6:30 pm - 12:30 am

• What You Will Do:

• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure continuous, efficient plant operations.

• Execute major equipment repairs, fabrication, construction, and installation projects, including welding to food-safe standards and precise mechanical assembly.

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues through detailed inspection, use of precision measuring tools, and interpretation of mechanical schematics.

• Fabricate and maintain critical plant components such as guards, doors, steps, shafts, sprockets, and mounting brackets using lathes, metal sheers, benders, and welding equipment.

• Provide training and guidance to production teams on maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.

• What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.

• 5+ years of related experience. Operating knowledge of machine shop related equipment, CNC programming and welding experience preferred.

• Advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and basic to advanced building skills

• Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
