Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to support manufacturing operations at our Rocky Mount, VA location. The role involves diagnosing electro‑mechanical problems, setting up equipment with recipe changes, and ensuring top‑notch maintenance of mechanical and electrical components.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree or equivalent experience, 3–7 years in manufacturing maintenance, and proficiency in Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field, or equivalent related experience.
• 3-7 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures.
• Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations.
• Ability to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex electro‑mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
• Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
• Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
• Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
• Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
• Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
• Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
• Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
• Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
• Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
• Enter all work completed in computer‑based maintenance program
• Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
• Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
• Train Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills
• Performs other duties as assigned
