This role is ideal for a skilled, mechanically and electrically inclined technician who enjoys variety, values quality, and takes pride in delivering top-tier service.

Job Summary:

As a Finishing Technician II, you’ll play a critical role in keeping customer equipment running safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. This role blends hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and customer-facing field service—both in our facilities and at customer sites.

You’ll work with advanced finishing, dispensing, and filtration equipment that often requires electronic diagnostics and basic programming, making this an ideal role for a technician who enjoys solving complex problems and seeing the direct results of their work.

What You’ll Do:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service customer equipment in the shop and in the field.
  • Provide field service and maintenance support for industrial manual and automated equipment.
  • Support system installation, setup, and commissioning.
  • Partner with customers by answering repair and technical questions.
  • Accurately document work performed using company systems.
  • Prepare repaired or serviced equipment for safe shipment.
  • Rebuild used equipment for resale.
  • Maintain demonstration equipment, including:
  • Performance testing prior to use.
  • Tracking use by employees and customers.
  • Cleaning, repairing, testing, and returning equipment to storage.
  • Assemble special projects and custom jobs as requested.
  • Participate in product training to stay current on evolving technologies.
  • Support product demonstrations alongside sales - both in the lab and in the field.
  • Assist with establishing repair and maintenance service contracts.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused lab environment.
What We’re Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade emphasis preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight travel.
  • 3+ years of experience in skilled trades or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • Two (2) certifications from primary Finishing, Dispensing & Filtration vendors (e.g., Graco, GEMA, Fanuc, Sames, CFT), or ability to obtain within the first 6 months.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Finishing processes and equipment.
  • Pumps and pump motors.
  • Tubing and piping routing/installation.
  • Related industrial equipment exposure.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to:
  • Disassemble equipment.
  • Diagnose issues.
  • Clean, refurbish, replace parts.
  • Reassemble and test equipment.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic.
  • Comfortable reading technical manuals, safety rules, and procedures—and documenting work clearly.
  • Strong communication skills with customers, peers, and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with 5S and organized work environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Comfortable working in environments with paint, solvents, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and carry materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Work environments may include:
