Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Colorado seeks an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to support the D5 Life Extension II program for avionics harness designs. You will produce designs, drawings, and documentation for fabrication and assembly within an IPT environment.

Location is in-office (Littleton/Englewood, CO) with a 9x80 schedule. US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required. Experience with wire harness design and aerospace systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience in electro-mechanical engineering including wire harness/cable design.
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing).
• Experience using Zuken (wiring harness layout) to create and manage production ready electrical designs.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain to obtain a Secret clearance, thus a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Provide producible designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, and work within an Integrated Product Team environment.
• Prepare all applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of the hardware designed.
• Coordinate with thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant designs. You will support manufacturing and test disciplines in minimizing cycle time and resolving problems.
• Establish specifications for contract assemblers and raw-material vendors.
• Interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance.

Location: This position does not support teleworking;the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton or Englewood CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

Key Activities You Will Accomplish In This Role

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience in electro-mechanical engineering including wire harness/cable design.
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing).
• Experience using Zuken (wiring harness layout) to create and manage production ready electrical designs.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain to obtain a Secret clearance, thus a US Citizen.

Desired Skills

Full working knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.).
• Experience with 3D printing/prototyping.
• Missile/Aerospace related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership.
• Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers.
• Experience performing tolerance stack-ups.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and with adjacent disciplines.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
• Hands-on hardware experience.
• Active security clearance.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
