Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 2-5 years of engineering experience (internships or co-op welcomed).

• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles, GD&T, and general manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Experience designing electro-mechanical products or assemblies (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for electro-mechanical products using Fusion 360 or equivalent 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, NX, etc.).
• Create detailed part drawings, electrical schematics, wire lists, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
• Develop and maintain CAD models and engineering documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Build, assemble, and evaluate engineering prototypes.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical laboratory testing including functional, durability, environmental, and performance testing.
• Document test procedures, collect data, analyze results, and prepare engineering reports.
• Assist in troubleshooting design issues and implementing design improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Provide design and change order management of existing products to contract manufacturer
• Coordinate new product design transfer to contract manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for electro-mechanical products using Fusion 360 or equivalent 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, NX, etc.).
• Create detailed part drawings, electrical schematics, wire lists, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Develop and maintain CAD models and engineering documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Build, assemble, and evaluate engineering prototypes.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical laboratory testing including functional, durability, environmental, and performance testing.

• Experience with Google applications for documentation and reporting.
