Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Mechanical Assembler / Wire & Cable Assembler / Quality Tester for a contract-to-hire role in San Diego, CA. You will build electro-mechanical subassemblies and PCBA modules, wire harnesses, install firmware, and conduct functional tests to ensure products meet quality standards.

The on-site position runs with a structured training path, daily stand-ups at 7:00 AM, and collaborative teamwork. Aerotek offers competitive pay and benefits including health, 401(k), and more.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling electro-mechanical subassemblies and devices.
• Hands-on wire harness assembly and electrical connections.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting devices with a structured process.
• Proficient tool handling including hand and small power tools.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with MES and shop floor systems.
• Ability to follow detailed build plans without deviation.
• Experience with 42Q and firmware installation activities.
• Clear communication of issues and troubleshooting steps.

Responsibilities

• Assembles electro-mechanical subassemblies and PCBAs per MES instructions.
• Uses 42Q to open work instructions, track tasks, and document steps.
• Performs mechanical and electrical assembly and wire harnessing by hand.
• Installs firmware onto PCBAs; runs scripts; verifies success.
• Conducts functional testing and monitors results for proper operation.
• Documents verification steps and pass/fail data in MES.
• Troubleshoots failures and implements corrective actions.
• Adheres to build plans and safety procedures; participates in team training.
• Communicates defects and issues to leaders; supports continuous improvement.
• Participates in daily stand-up to review priorities and goals.
• Maintains high quality, accuracy, and consistency across tasks.
