Job summary

Atec, Inc. in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a manufacturing assembler to join our electronics production team. You will read work orders, follow drawings, and assemble components into subassemblies and final products to exact specifications.

You will position parts, perform joinery operations, mount components, and connect wiring to produce functional assemblies in a fast-paced environment. Opportunities include cross-training and adherence to AS9100/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent training/experience.
• Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment or equivalent training.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand work orders, follow production drawings, and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
• Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
• Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
• Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.
• Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.

Education

High School diploma or GED

1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or training

Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics
