Job summary

VTG seeks an Assembler to work in Hampton Roads shipyards. You will read blueprints and assembly drawings, align and mount components, route cables, and connect wiring to power sources. You will test units, calibrate to spec, and maintain production records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2–3 years of related experience or an associate degree. Ability to travel and a valid driver's license are preferred, and US citizenship is required for security clearance considerations.

Qualifications

• Blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings are used to guide work.
• Ability to read process sheets and schematics for accurate assembly.
• Must be US citizen and able to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams for assembly assignments.
• Aligns and assembles parts into housing and panels.
• Routes cables and attaches wires to form circuitry.
• Installs switches, transformers, relays, and semiconductors.
• Tests units to locate defects and verify operation.
• Calibrates units and replaces defective components.
• Enters production data and maintains records.
