Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an Assembler 2 in Rochester, NY to build complex electronic and electro-mechanical products using detailed work instructions and engineering drawings. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to specifications.

The role emphasizes process improvement, proper documentation, and a strong focus on quality and safety within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of experience in electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read assembly drawings, work instructions, and schematics; proficient with hand tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot basic production challenges.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure quality and workmanship.
• Effective communication with team members, Engineering, Quality, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Complex Assembly: Assemble electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical products following detailed work instructions and engineering documentation.
• Quality & workmanship: Inspect work during assembly and ensure products meet quality standards before moving to the next operation.
• Documentation & process compliance: Accurately complete production documentation and record non-conformances when needed.
• Continuous improvement: Identify assembly challenges and provide feedback to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
• Workplace organization & safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with 6S practices.
