Job summary

Staffmark is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler in Waukegan, IL to assemble quality products using hand and power tools, following detailed work instructions.

The role requires reading blueprints/drawings, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Expect a Monday–Friday 7:00 am–4:00 pm schedule, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience assembling mechanical, electrical, or manufactured products using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, work instructions, or technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to read drawings to assemble/disassemble power conditioners and other electrical products.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Receive product from trucks using hand pallet jack and/or powered pallet jacks.
• Break down pallets for manufacturing assembly and build up pallets with product for customer shipments with heavy boxes/products.
• Willingly learns new duties and skills.
• Assemble a variety of subassemblies used in specific industry applications as well as a finished good product.
• Makes effective decisions during change.

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements

• Ability to accurately use measuring devices and maintain quality standards.

• The Assembler will use assembly presses, hand tools, power tools and, measuring instruments, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, fabrication, or mechanical assembly is preferred.
• Technical training, vocational education, or manufacturing coursework is beneficial.
• Experience working with pneumatic tools, torque tools, fixtures, or assembly equipment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality inspection procedures, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong craftsmanship, dependability, teamwork, and attention to detail are well positioned for success as an Electro-Mechanical Assembler.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift components, materials, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
• Ability to maintain focus while performing detailed assembly work in a manufacturing environment.
