Job summary

Met Weld International, a Gavial Holdings company, located in Altamont, NY, is seeking a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler. The role involves reading production drawings, soldering, and assembling components into panels and wiring harnesses. Shifts include 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

or a second shift with a 10% differential. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of assembly experience, a high school diploma, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Soldering experience required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand production drawings, assembly instructions, work orders, and sample assemblies.
  • Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press-fit parts as needed.
  • Mount assembled components on chassis panels or PCBs.
  • Position and align parts in jig or fixture.
  • Connect wires to PCBs and routes between components.
  • Manufacture cables and wiring harnesses.
  • Install finished assemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assemble and attach hardware to assemblies.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks and pass online inspection.

We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual who values customer service and has experience in a manufacturing environment.

This position could work on the regular day shift from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or on the 2nd shift which would include a 10% shift differential.

Assembler Job Summary:

Met Weld is looking to fill an Electrical and Mechanical Assembler position that requires Soldering and Assembly experience with a willingness to learn.

Assembler Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Assembler must read and understand production drawings, assembly instructions, work orders, and sample assemblies. Must also be able to receive verbal instructions regarding duty assignments.
  • Assembler crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel or printed wiring boards.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Manufactures cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable, and fiber-optic cable.
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • Performs online inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Experience:
  • 1 - 3 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Soldering experience required.
