Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Mechanical Assembler in Germantown, WI. The role involves setting up winding machinery, assembling units with hand and power tools, and loading spools of wire and coils.

You will test units to ensure they meet electrical and mechanical specifications, weld and solder copper and steel, and document production data. The position requires the ability to read three-way dimensional drawings and work orders in English, perform basic math, and enter data via computer

Qualifications

• Two years of steady work experience preferred.
• Able to read 3-way dimensional drawings, blueprints and work orders in English.
• Proficient in copper and steel welding and hand soldering.
• Able to perform basic math and data entry.
• Able to read tape measurements accurately.
• Enter production data via computer keyboard.

Responsibilities

Position Title: Mechanical Assembler

Wage: $20.00 - $22.00/hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd or 3rd

Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm, 2:00pm - 10:00pm or 10:00pm - 6:00am

Mechanical Assembler Responsibilities:

• Set up winding machinery for operation
• Assemble units using hand and power hand tools
• Load and change spools of wire and coils
• Test assembled units and verify units meet all electrical and mechanical specifications
• Weld and solder copper and steel. Hand solder wire to terminals
• Assemble core legs
• Label products as appropriate
• Computer keyboard entry of all necessary production data

Requirements for Mechanical Assembler:

• Skilled in copper and steel welding as well as hand soldering
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide proficiently
• Able to read three-way dimensional drawings, blueprints and work orders in English
• Able to write production information/data in English
• Able to read and correctly interpret measurements using tape measures
• Able to enter data via computer keyboard, bring up three-way dimensional drawings, read and set counters, and print labels
• At least two years of steady work experience preferred
