Job summary

Doble Engineering in Accident, Maryland seeks an Electro-Mechanical Application Engineer who links Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to develop accurate product cost estimates and technical solutions for customer applications.

Role analyzes requirements, evaluates engineering specs, estimates labor and material costs, and determines cost of goods for standard and custom-engineered products. Reports to Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related engineering discipline.
• Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a four-year engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, RFQs, statements of work, and technical requirements to ensure complete understanding of project scope.
• Evaluate engineering drawings, BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material quantities, fabrication requirements, labor hours, testing hours for orders.
• Analyze direct labor, material costs, and overhead to determine total cost of goods sold.
• Develop pricing recommendations and sales quotations with margin targets.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering to develop technical solutions that meet application requirements.
