• Evaluate engineering drawings, BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to prepare cost estimates.
• Calculate material quantities, fabrication needs, labor hours, testing hours, and acceptance testing hours for orders.
• Analyze direct labor, material costs, purchased components, subcontracted services, and overhead to determine total COGS.

At Doble Engineering, an Electro-Mechanical Application Engineer serves as a critical link between Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing by developing accurate product cost estimates and technical solutions for customer applications. This role is responsible for analyzing customer requirements, evaluating engineering specifications, estimating labor and material costs, and determining the overall cost of goods (COGs) for both standard and custom-engineered products.

In addition to providing accurate quotations and pricing recommendations, the Electro-Mechanical Application Engineer supports product development initiatives, drives continuous improvement efforts, evaluates manufacturing efficiencies, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve product performance, quality, and profitability. The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude, analytical problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. This position will report to Director of Operations, and is located at Doble's Accident, Maryland facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Cost Estimating and Quotation Support
