Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Elk Grove Village, IL, seeks an Electro Mechanic (Nights) to support high-quality, timely shipment of TOPPAN products. You will perform proactive maintenance, safety checks, and repair tasks in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Under supervision of the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, you'll read electrical drawings, service motors, pumps, PLCs, and calibrate equipment to minimize downtime. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read rulers and perform basic measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• PLC troubleshooting experience and knowledge of industrial motor controls.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow plant safety rules including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe machine operation.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and technical data.
• Work on motors, contactors, and relays using a multimeter to verify component functionality.
• Operate band saws, mills, and lathes.
• Maintain chillers, process pumps, compressors, ink pumps, and glue pumps.
• Analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and PLC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration with minimal downtime.
• Document parts used and repairs completed in CMMS.
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and parts room organization.
