Position: Electro Mechanic (Days & NightsShifts Available)Location: Elk Grove VillageShift: 5:45 AM – 6:15 PM OR 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM | 12-hour continental schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next, off every other weekend)Pay Rate: $37.43 – $39.85/hour (depending on experience) + ($2.00 shift differential if applicable)Summary DescriptionWhile reporting to the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for performing proactive maintenance tasks necessary to provide high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of TOPPAN products. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are central to the TOPPAN culture.What You’ll Be DoingUnderstand and follow plant safety rules including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe machine operationRead and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and technical dataWork on motors, contactors, and relays using a multimeter to verify component functionalityOperate advanced shop equipment such as band saws, mills, and lathesMaintain chillers, process pumps, compressors, ink pumps, and glue pumpsAnalyze and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issuesTroubleshoot and repair electrical controls and PLC systemsPerform preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration with minimal downtimeDiagnose root causes of production equipment failures and determine best corrective actionDocument parts used and repairs completed in CMMSAssist in maintaining spare parts inventory and parts room organizationPerform repairs on plant production and facility equipmentParticipate in TOPPAN’s Global Performance System (GPS) activities including audits, pillar teams, and near missesMaintain safe operational conditions of all production and related equipmentUse required personal protective equipmentMaintain regular attendance and punctualityPerform other duties as assignedWe’d Love to Hear From You IfYou have industrial manufacturing experience or military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipmentIndustry experience with blown film, sheet extrusion, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting, or related ancillary equipment is preferredYou have PLC troubleshooting experience and knowledge of industrial motor controlsYou can operate a forkliftYou are comfortable with lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 poundsYou can work independently while managing multiple tasks during off-shift hoursYou are comfortable with rotating schedules, overtime, and weekend workBenefitsAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support overall wellbeing.
