Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Performance/Simulation/Application Engineer to help develop and launch e-Powertrain systems for Large Mining Truck products, including diesel, battery electric, and dynamic energy transfer trucks.

You will contribute to multiple NPIs moving to production in the next three years and collaborate with senior team leads and an engineering fellow. You will solve challenging problems using advanced simulations, analytical methods, and cross-functional teamwork to optimize

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools.
Knowledge of system requirements development and validation processes.
Experience working on cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers and leadership to scope and execute projects.
Deliver timely, high-quality simulation and analysis.
Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain and test to deliver new products.
Lead development and integration of electrified powertrain architectures and controls.
Define and optimize electrified powertrain control strategies for performance and efficiency.
Develop and evaluate system efficiency improvement initiatives.
