Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Energy and Power Discipline Leader within the Infrastructure Services Group in the United States. The role drives electrification, DERs, EV fleet adoption, and renewable energy advisory for federal, state, municipal, and commercial clients.

The candidate will lead analytical work, strategic development, and market initiatives while mentoring staff and collaborating across disciplines to deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• 12 years of related experience is required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the development of analysis, evaluation, design, and approaches for electric vehicle fleet adoption by clients.
• Provide electrification and renewable energy advisory and design support to clients nationwide.
• Educate internal leaders on new policies and funding opportunities for electrification.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses including financial modeling and cost-benefit analyses.
• Champion R&D initiatives related to green electrification and renewable energy.
• Lead cross-functional teams in complex strategic efforts.
• Act as seller and doer, guiding clients in mobility space.
• Collaborate across practices to advance this discipline.
• Mentor technical staff and engage with researchers and industry peers.
• Lead webinars and technical luminescence activities.
• Support TGAs related to data center power, clean energy, and grid modernization.
