Job summary
General Motors is seeking a Diagnostics Systems Architect within the Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) team in Michigan. This hybrid role focuses on Electrification Diagnostics to support GM’s zero-emissions vision and safety goals.
You will lead diagnostic algorithm development and collaborate with Architecture, Controls, Software, and Suppliers teams. The position emphasizes end-to-end controller diagnostics, calibration processes, and cross-ART coordination to advance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, IT, Chemistry or equivalent.
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- Mastery over OBD regulation requirements, thermal propagation detection, and battery chemistry knowledge.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing Supervisory Control Systems for Electric Vehicles.
- Experience with DOORS and simulation environments such as Matlab/Simulink, CarSim, ETAS.
Responsibilities
- Drive diagnostics development for Electrification Battery & High Voltage ART.
- Mentor engineers and promote common diagnostic approaches.
- Ensure high-quality diagnostic standards are delivered on time.
