Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a position in Mossville, IL to develop and validate real-time control algorithms for inverter and charger controls using MATLAB/Simulink model-based development.

You will contribute to electrification of Caterpillar products by integrating energy sources such as batteries and PV into power conversion systems. The role requires modelling of electrical and hybrid power systems, grid studies, and collaboration across teams to advance new products and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Model Electrical & Hybrid Power Systems.
• Simulate grid connections for renewables and BESS.
• Evaluate controller requirements and develop strategies for Power Conversion Systems.
• Evaluate new products, processes, or systems.
• Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units.
• Contribute to the design of new products and processes.
