Calling all electricians! We have an exciting opportunity for qualified electricians to join our Utilities department.
Upcoming Salary Increases and Incentives :
Depending on assignment, responsibilities include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in water, wastewater, and municipal facilities, with voltage work up to 5,000 volts in Public Works and up to 1,000 volts in Utilities. Training of personnel may also be involved.

Responsibilities include repairing electrical parts, testing and repairing circuitry, inspecting equipment, reading blueprints, operating heavy machinery, maintaining safety standards, and training staff. Specific duties vary based on assignment to Public Works or Utilities, involving traffic signals, street lighting, control systems, SCADA systems, and more. Marginal duties include related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, motors, circuitry, troubleshooting, safety practices, and office software. Ability to learn trade skills, work with high/low voltage, interpret diagrams, diagnose malfunctions, communicate effectively, and establish good working relationships.
Experience of at least five years in electrical work, with a completed Electrician/Electrical Apprentice Program of at least 8,000 hours, is required. A high school diploma or GED is necessary. Valid California Class A or B driver’s license within 60 days of hire; crane operator certification within 6 months if assigned.
Includes heavy manual labor, lifting up to 75 pounds, working in noisy and high-voltage environments, and exposure to environmental substances. Must possess adequate vision, hearing, dexterity, and emotional stability.
Primarily outdoor work with exposure to noise, weather, high voltage, and sometimes at heights or remote locations. Overtime, standby, or weekend work may be required.
