Job summary

Worley is seeking an Electrician Superintendent to lead large electrical craft teams on major industrial construction projects in Bastrop, TX. This field-based leadership role focuses on safe, efficient installation, adherence to schedules, quality, and client expectations.

You will mentor electricians, coordinate foremen and subcontractors, manage labor productivity, and drive continuous improvement in field execution while ensuring compliance with HSE and project standards.

Qualifications

• Typically 12+ years of electrical construction experience within industrial, energy, chemicals, resources, infrastructure, manufacturing, power generation, or heavy industrial projects.
• Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent trade qualification where applicable.
• Demonstrated experience leading large electrical craft organizations on industrial construction projects.

Play an integral role in leading the safe, productive, and efficient execution of electrical construction activities on major industrial projects. As an Electrician Superintendent, you will provide field leadership for large electrical craft organizations, ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, and customer expectations.

This is a field-based leadership role located on an active industrial construction site. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field working directly with forepersons, electricians, subcontractors, construction managers, field engineers, and project leadership teams. Success in this role requires a strong field presence, exceptional trade leadership, sound construction judgment, and a commitment to safe, predictable project delivery.

This highly visible construction leadership position serves as a key member of the site construction management team. Your ability to lead large craft organizations, coordinate workface execution, optimize labor productivity, and mentor the next generation of electricians will directly impact project safety, schedule performance, quality outcomes, and overall project success.

Purpose of the role

The Electrician Superintendent is responsible for directing and coordinating electrical construction activities on major industrial projects. You will provide leadership to a large group of forepersons and electrical craft professionals while ensuring safe work execution, workforce productivity, quality performance, apprentice development, and compliance with project requirements.

Working closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Engineering, Workface Planning, HSE, Quality, Materials Management, and Commissioning teams, you will ensure electrical construction activities are properly planned, staffed, coordinated, and executed. Through effective workforce planning, field leadership, and operational oversight, you will help deliver successful project outcomes while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for

• Leading all electrical construction activities within assigned project areas.
• Directing and coordinating large crews of forepersons and electrical craft personnel in support of project execution.
• Supporting safe installation of power distribution systems, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, cable tray systems, conduit systems, grounding systems, lighting systems, instrumentation installations, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Planning work activities and allocating workforce resources to maintain productivity and schedule performance.
• Coordinating workface planning activities to ensure labor, equipment, materials, drawings, permits, and work packages are available when required.
• Monitoring manpower requirements and adjusting workforce deployment to support changing project priorities.
• Overseeing daily electrical construction operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and approved procedures.
• Driving workforce productivity through effective field leadership, planning, scheduling, and coordination.
• Ensuring compliance with project HSE requirements, electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
• Conducting field inspections, safety observations, and worksite reviews to identify, communicate, and mitigate risks.
• Supporting apprentice development, workforce training, and craft competency improvement programs.
• Monitoring quality performance and ensuring electrical installations meet project requirements, codes, and applicable standards.
• Coordinating with Engineering, Quality, HSE, Workface Planning, Project Controls, and Construction leadership teams.
• Resolving field execution challenges and supporting timely issue resolution.
• Managing labor performance, work progress, production reporting, and crew efficiency metrics.
• Supporting cost management initiatives through effective labor utilization and productivity improvements.
• Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Participating in construction planning meetings, execution reviews, risk assessments, and progress evaluations.
• Supporting commissioning and turnover readiness efforts in coordination with project teams.
• Promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, electrical safety, technical excellence, and operational excellence.

What you’ll bring to the role

You bring extensive electrical construction experience, strong trade leadership capability, and a proven ability to safely execute large-scale industrial electrical installations within complex EPC project environments.

• Typically 12+ years of electrical construction experience within industrial, energy, chemicals, resources, infrastructure, manufacturing, power generation, or heavy industrial projects.
• Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent trade qualification where applicable.
• Demonstrated experience leading large electrical craft organizations on industrial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, power distribution systems, instrumentation interfaces, grounding systems, and electrical installation methods.
• Proven experience supervising multiple forepersons and managing large electrical crews in complex construction environments.
• Extensive knowledge of construction sequencing, workforce planning, labor productivity, and field execution practices.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, workface planning methodologies, and construction execution strategies.
• Experience monitoring manpower requirements, crew productivity, labor utilization, and cost performance.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and electrical safety requirements.
• Strong understanding of lockout/tagout procedures, energized work controls, and electrical hazard mitigation practices.
• Experience applying labor relations policies and workforce management practices within construction environments.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks, solve field challenges, and implement practical construction solutions.
• Experience supporting apprentice training, workforce development, and mentoring initiatives.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence field personnel, subcontractors, and construction leadership teams.
• Experience working collaboratively with Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Quality, HSE, and Commissioning organizations.
• Ability to recognize and resolve conflict while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
• Advanced understanding of electrical construction systems, processes, tools, and field execution methodologies.
