Worley in the United States is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to provide overall construction leadership for large industrial projects, guiding field execution to meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and operations, leading a team of superintendents and field staff to drive productivity, risk management, and readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive construction, project management, field leadership, or industrial project execution experience.
• Experience leading major EPC, EPCM, industrial, energy, chemicals, LNG, power, or large capital projects.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage cross-functional teams on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of HSE, quality management, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Senior Construction Manager

Play an integral role in leading the successful execution of major industrial construction projects while ensuring the safe, efficient, and predictable delivery of project objectives. As a Senior Construction Manager, you will provide overall construction leadership for large, complex projects, directing field execution activities to achieve schedule, cost, quality, safety, and customer performance goals.

This is a field-based leadership role located on an active industrial construction site. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the project leadership team, working directly with Project Managers, Construction Superintendents, Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, HSE, Quality, Commissioning, contractors, and customer representatives. This is not an office-based project management role. Success in this position requires a strong field presence, exceptional leadership capability, and extensive experience managing complex industrial construction activities.

Your leadership will directly influence workforce productivity, project performance, contractor effectiveness, operational readiness, customer satisfaction, and overall project success.

Purpose of the role

The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for leading all construction execution activities associated with major industrial projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations. You will develop and implement construction execution strategies, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and align project priorities to support successful project delivery.

Working closely with Project Leadership, Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Quality, HSE, Commissioning, and Operations teams, you will provide direction for construction planning, workforce management, contractor performance, productivity improvement, risk management, and field execution activities.

As the senior construction leader on assigned projects, you will be accountable for delivering project objectives while establishing a culture focused on safety, operational excellence, quality, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement.

Construction Leadership & Project Execution

• Leading all construction activities associated with major industrial projects.
• Establishing construction execution strategies that support project schedules, budgets, contractual obligations, and customer requirements.
• Providing leadership across construction planning, execution, commissioning support, startup readiness, and project closeout activities.
• Managing complex construction projects or multiple related projects simultaneously.
• Ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
• Supporting development and implementation of construction execution plans, site logistics plans, and workforce deployment strategies.

Field Operations Management

• Directing daily site operations and ensuring construction activities are executed safely and efficiently.
• Providing leadership to construction superintendents, field engineers, forepersons, and contractor organizations.
• Monitoring construction productivity, workforce performance, and schedule progress.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities to ensure effective execution across all project disciplines.
• Supporting construction sequencing, workface planning, installation planning, and execution readiness activities.
• Identifying field constraints and implementing corrective measures to maintain execution objectives.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all project HSE requirements.
• Supporting implementation of project quality programs and ensuring construction activities meet project specifications and standards.
• Driving accountability for safe work execution, hazard identification, risk mitigation, and workforce engagement.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, company policies, and contractual obligations.
• Supporting project audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Cost, Schedule & Performance Management

• Monitoring project performance against schedule, budget, productivity, and quality objectives.
• Developing mitigation plans and recovery strategies to address schedule or performance challenges.
• Supporting project forecasting, progress reporting, and performance reviews.
• Managing construction resources and equipment to optimize productivity and cost performance.
• Reviewing construction performance metrics and implementing improvement initiatives where necessary.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

• Managing contractor performance and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Building strong relationships with customer representatives, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Resolving construction issues, conflicts, and execution challenges through effective leadership and collaboration.
• Supporting commercial, contractual, and operational discussions associated with project execution.
• Participating in customer meetings, leadership reviews, and project performance assessments.

People Leadership

• Leading construction organizations consisting of superintendents, field engineers, supervisors, and support personnel.
• Providing coaching, mentoring, development, and performance management for direct reports.
• Building high-performing teams focused on safety, productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
• Supporting workforce development, succession planning, and organizational capability growth.

What you’ll bring to the role

You bring a strong combination of construction leadership, project delivery expertise, operational experience, and the ability to successfully manage complex industrial construction projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Typically 15+ years of progressive construction, project management, field leadership, or industrial project execution experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading major EPC, EPCM, industrial, energy, chemicals, LNG, power generation, resources, infrastructure, manufacturing, or large capital projects.
• Significant experience serving in senior construction leadership roles on complex industrial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and project delivery processes.
• Proven ability to manage large construction organizations, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience developing and implementing construction execution strategies, workforce plans, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, workface planning, scheduling, and field execution practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, workforce resources, and contractor performance.
• Experience identifying operational risks and implementing practical mitigation strategies.
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements, quality management processes, and regulatory compliance obligations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to effectively influence project teams, customers, contractors, and senior leadership.
• Proven experience preparing and presenting project updates, recommendations, performance reports, and executive briefings.
