Job summary

Foresight Energy is seeking a skilled maintenance technician with extensive underground experience to support mine operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment servicing across face equipment in a mining cycle, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires MSHA Electrical Certification and an Illinois Electrical Certificate, with compensation at an attractive hourly rate and potential safety, production, and attendance bonuses.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of underground experience.
• MSHA Electrical Certification and Illinois Electrical Certificate are required.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand permissibility requirements.
• Splice and troubleshoot underground cables.
• Service all face equipment to fit in mining cycle.
• Read electrical prints for equipment.
• Operate all face equipment.
• Maintain CO monitor and communications.
• Troubleshoot and install leaky feeder and fiber optic cables.
• Fire suppression testing.
• Downshift – change major components on all equipment.
• Grease all appropriate components.

Experience in a wide range of maintenance preferred. Preventative maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical troubleshooting.

• Review & understand permissibility requirements
• Proper splicing & troubleshooting techniques for underground cables
• Service all face equipment to fit in mining cycle
• Read electrical prints for equipment
• Perform chain & crawler maintenance
• Proper cribbing and blocking techniques
• Operate all face equipment
• Maintain CO monitor & communications
• Troubleshoot & install leaky feeder & fiber optic cables
• Fire suppression testing
• Downshift – change major components on all equipment
• Fix sensors on shield electrics & troubleshoot electrics
• Grease all appropriate components
• Change backflush filter and water pump filters

1. 2 + years of underground experience

2. MSHA Certified Electrical Card holder & Illinois Electrical Certificate

Compensation at an attractive hourly rate of $36.23.
