Job summary

A construction and engineering firm is looking for experienced TERMINATOR ELECTRICIANS to join their Texas team. Candidates must possess a valid Texas Electrical License and have a minimum of 5 years of craft-specific experience. Responsibilities include cable splicing, troubleshooting, and installing electrical systems. Qualifications

• Valid Texas Electrical License required.
• 5+ years craft-specific experience is mandatory.
• Ability to meet NCCER Skill Assessment cut score.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to cable splicing and high voltage termination.
• Work with motor controls and troubleshoot energized equipment.
• Fabricate, install, and maintain electrical systems.
• Read blueprints and NEC requirements for installations
• Use specialized testing equipment to troubleshoot energized motor controls.
• Fabricate and install breakers, fuses, and cable trays as needed.

Skills

Knowledge of cable splicing and high voltage termination

Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond and P.V.C. conduit

Use mechanical and 2” – 4” hydraulic benders

Fabricate and install breakers and fuses

Size thermal-overloads, breakers, and fuses

Terminate motors, transformers, and cable splicing

Understand proper use of hydraulic tools

Read blueprints and national electric code requirements

Use electrical equipment testers

Knowledge of electrical OSHA rules and regulations

Education

The Position

We are looking for positive, energetic TERMINATOR ELECTRICIANS with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce. Applicants should have:

• Knowledge of cable splicing and high voltage termination
• Experienced with motor controls
• Must have the ability to use specialized testing equipment
• Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond and P.V.C. conduit
• Must have the ability to use mechanical and 2” – 4” hydraulic benders
• Must be able to fabricate and install conduit supports
• Must have the ability to install wire and cable by either hand or machine in cable trays
• Must perform MCC and switchgear work
• Must be able to perform troubleshooting on energized motor controls
• Can fabricate and install breakers and fuses, cable trays, batteries, battery charger, buss duct, junction boxes, tagging, term, motors, and transformers
• Can size thermal-overloads, breakers, and fuses
• Able to terminate motors, transformers, stress cones and cable splicing
• Understand the proper use of hydraulic tools
• Can read blueprints and national electric code requirements
• Knowledgeable in the use of electrical equipment testers including V.O.M., AMP meter and 1000-volt insulation tester
• Knowledgeable in communication and applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations

Requirements

• Valid Texas Electrical License: go to TDLR website for more information
• Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Skill Assessment.
• Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks.
• Ability to work night shifts.
• Minimum 5 years craft-specific experience.
