Job Overview:
The Electrician installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial electrical equipment, machinery, and associated electrical and electronic controls.
Responsibilities:
- Understands internal customer needs and meets expectations.
- Demonstrates competence in basic computer skills.
- Knows the daily schedule and performance targets and meets expectations.
- Maintains the highest level of Electrical and Instrumentation skills.
- Assures standards are being met.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses plant maintenance problems.
- Installs PLC systems and networking, maintains and installs analog and digital equipment, and helps design HMI systems.
- Completes equipment inspections as necessary.
- Ensures areas are clean and free of clutter and that all safety rules, regulations, and precautions are being followed.
- Performs all other duties assigned.
- Acts in accordance with WE CARE and participates in improvement activities.
- Undertakes other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, processes, and procedures and to uphold values inherent to Oil-Dri.
- Acquires further training and proficiency in other job functions on the processing team.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field, or Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
- Must meet Oil-Dri written and hands-on assessment requirements.
Skills & Abilities:
- Fully proficient in diagnosing and making repairs to electrical motor controls, installing PLC systems and networking, maintaining and installing analog and digital equipment, and assisting in the design of HMI systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Knowledgeable of the appropriate electrical code and pertinent city or state inspection and safety requirements.
- Available for on-call duty.
- Ability to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, walk, and climb stairways and ladders frequently.
- Ability to work at heights of 100 feet or greater.
