The City of Kenner is seeking qualified Electricians to perform skilled electrical maintenance and repair in facilities and street-light systems managed by the General Services Department. The role includes leading Electrician I and II staff, assigning and reviewing work, and coordinating with the Superintendent.
Responsibilities include installing fixtures, wiring, troubleshooting, maintaining generators, and supporting special events.
Under general supervision, performs skilled electrical maintenance and repair work in the maintenance of facilities and related equipment and systems for the General Services Department. Work involves electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of all buildings, facilities, street lights managed by the General Services Department. Team leads the performance of work by Electrician Is and Electrician IIs. Reports to the Superintendent.Serves as lead person for Electricians; obtaining job assignments from the Superintendent; assigning and completing jobs; instructing employees; reviewing work; and reporting to the Superintendent on completion of jobs and any issues.
Essential duty status position, will be required to report to work during emergency situations, including, but not limited to, city-wide declared emergencies.Requires a vocational school diploma supplemented by three or more years of electrical maintenance and repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid Louisiana Class D driver’s license.
