Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking an Electrician II at The Ohio State University campus in Columbus, OH 43215. You will perform highly skilled electrical work on low, medium and high voltage systems up to 138,000-volt class, under the supervision of the High Voltage Manager.

You will lead crews, train staff, inspect contractor work, perform lockout/tagout, read schematics, plan jobs, order materials, and maintain safety and reliability across ENGIE-operated utility plants.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Completed electrical apprenticeship.
• A minimum two (2) years' work experience in a commercial/industrial electrical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist operation, installation, removal, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of high voltage equipment up to 138,000-volt class.
• Serve as crew leader and train/guide junior staff.
• Direct and inspect contractor work for safety and electrical design standards.
• Perform equipment lockout/tagout and use test equipment to troubleshoot.
• Overhaul motors, move equipment, and maintain substation components.
• Read blueprints and schematics; update drawings and schematics as needed.
• Plan jobs, order materials, diagnose faults in ENGIE systems.
