Job summary

Temple University is seeking an Electrician II in the Facilities Management group at Main Campus. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical systems from 6V up to 13,200V, troubleshooting issues, and responding to routine and emergency maintenance requests.

You will work with medium-voltage switchgear and building wiring, performing checks to ensure safe and economical operation. Off-hours work may be required for system maintenance.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting experience with Motor Control Centers, VFDs, Building Automation Systems, basic building wiring systems, and other electrically controlled mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of low voltage and control circuiting devices.
• Solid knowledge of safe working practices (NFPA-70E) and the (NFPA-70) National Electrical Code.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair university electrical systems and controls from 6V to 13,200V.
• Troubleshoot problems to make repairs and respond to routine and emergency maintenance calls.
• Work with medium‑voltage switchgear and building systems wiring and terminations.
• Perform operational and serviceability checks for safe, efficient operation.
• Occasionally work off-hours for system maintenance.
