Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, this position maintains, modifies, installs, inspects, tests, and repairs the Universities electrical systems and associated equipment. Design, install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot lighting systems. Design and install motor control circuits, generating systems, motors, and associated circuitry. Design, install or repair security systems, hoist or lifts, kitchen equipment, automatic doors, and gates. Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain scoreboards, marquees and electronic message centers.Performs preventive maintenance, fills out logs, reports, and information as required.

- Services and maintains; electrical motors, shaft bearings, gear reducers, lube or oil gears, spindles, belts, blowers, and filters.
- Minor repairs and replacements to electrical devices and equipment, may replace fuses, breakers, change single phase motors, blowers, fan coils, install light bulbs, tubes, or fixtures.
- Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
- Uses hand tools and testing instruments.
- Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
- Assists in isolating defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp and growler.
- Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
- Requisitions new electrical supplies and equipment.
- Document all work in CMMS system.
- Identifies and corrects unsafe work conditions with management oversight.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Complies with all University safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Performs various repairs and maintenance duties that involves plumbing, carpentry, HVAC duties to complete work requests. Duties may include; unclog drains, repair doors, locks, reset air conditioning equipment, replace filters, replace window air conditioning units, repair leaks in various systems using a variety of methods and materials.
Education

- Formal Electrical or HVAC training and/or related military experience may be substituted for the required experience.
- Education may be substituted for experience or if experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA or 60 credit hours = 2 years experience; BA/BS or 120 credit hours = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience; PhD = 8 years experience
Experience
- Four (4) years electrical job experience in an industrial or commercial setting required.
Licenses and Certifications
City of Warrensburg Electrical License required or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
