Job summary

University of Massachusetts Amherst / Amherst campus is seeking an Electrician I to install, maintain and repair electrical and related building systems. The position operates on the Amherst campus, is full time, and onsite, with responsibilities spanning preventive maintenance, diagnostics and coordination with other trades.

The ideal candidate holds a MA journeyman or master electrician license, a valid MA driver’s license, and relevant safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician’s License.
• Must possess a current, valid Class D driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge of Electrical, Fire Alarm and Card Access trades and applicable codes.
• Ability to obtain required safety and certification renewals within six months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, install at campus electrical systems and related components.
• Serve as first responder for electrical equipment and coordinate with contractors.
• Provide preventive maintenance and document work in maintenance history files.
• Assist Engineering with drawings reviews, inspections and system upgrades.
• Operate a vehicle to travel to campus buildings as needed.
• Install, repair, alter and maintain pumps and related systems.
