Job summary

Spartan Emergency Response, part of Terex Corporation, seeks a Production Electrical associate responsible for installing and wiring harnesses to ensure the electrical function of cabs and bodies for emergency response vehicles. You will read basic schematics and work with engineering to ensure correct assemblies.

Qualifications

  • Read and understand basic electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of basic automotive wiring theory and application.
  • Knowledge of Spartan Chassis wiring theory and application preferred.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Be willing to: Improve self / area / company; develop working knowledge of Spartan systems (AS/400).
  • Able to work overtime on short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand basic electrical schematics.
  • Assemble and reconfigure wiring harnesses to ensure proper performance of electrical functions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation concerning vehicle options.
  • Interact with electrical engineering to ensure wire harnesses are correctly assembled and installed.
  • Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete assembly in assigned area.
  • Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etc.
  • Perform rework, as needed.
  • Understand, and be able to articulate, the production flow of an assigned product line or area.
  • Self-check work and inspect prior processes.
  • Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required.
  • Meet production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Initiate process improvements; support 5S in work area.
  • Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Work in close proximity with customer, as needed.
  • Solve complex problems with minimal assistance.

Summary

The Production Electrical position is responsible for the installation and wiring of harnesses to ensure the electrical function of Spartan’s emergency response cabs and bodies.

Job Responsibilities
