Job summary

San Antonio Zoo is seeking a Skilled Craftsperson - Electrician to perform maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment at our facility in San Antonio, TX. This full-time, on-site role requires hands-on electrical work, safety consciousness, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Three years electrical experience.
• Valid Texas Electrician License preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to read technical sketches and blueprints.
• Knowledge of city and national electrical codes.
• Ability to identify and correct defects in electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, alter, maintain, and repair electrical circuits, systems and fixtures.
• Operate electrical equipment and assist a helper as needed.
• Order parts and tools with proper authorization.
• Maintain safety practices and guest safety awareness in a zoo environment.
• Assist guests with questions and directions as needed.
