Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a full-time Electrician for the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and life-safety equipment across the facility, including fire alarm systems and emergency generators.

Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, a trade or vocational school background, and a NC driver’s license.

The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:* Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with the established scheduling system* Inspect, diagnose, test, install, maintain and repair electrical equipment* Conduct routine rounds of the facility and perform a variety of routine service and repair tasks to monitor and maintain electrical systems and equipment* Make necessary repairs and maintain essential electrical life safety systems including but not limited to, fire alarm system, emergency generators, switchgear, transfer switches, etc.* Complete in-service for physical plant, building, HVAC and Life Safety systems and equipment* Participate in performance improvement and information management activities* Investigate incidents involving the physical plant, electrical systems/equipment and components, utility system components and equipment and makes recommendations to supervisor* Provide technical assistance to department staff by trouble shooting and resolving problems associated with the operation and repair of the physical plant, electrical systems/equipment and components and utility system components and equipment* Perform periodic inspections of mechanical and electrical rooms and corrects physical plant, building and life safety deficiencies* Other duties as assigned# **Minimum Qualifications**The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:## **Education and Formal Training**:* Trade or vocational school graduate required* Electrician's license preferred* Valid North Carolina driver's license required## **Work Experience**:* 5 years of electrical maintenance related experience required## **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required**:* Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language* Ability to communicate with employees, patients, visitors, vendors, construction contractors## **Physical Requirements**:* Ability to move throughout the Medical Center* Visual acuity for reviewing written reports* Ability to climb ladders and stairs for access to construction areas* Ability to lift at least 50 pounds* Exposure to temperature extremes from boiler room to air-conditioned areas* Work in areas of high tool noise levels* Exposure to high-speed cutting tools, electrical wires, and equipment, sealing agents, adhesives, and demolition debris* Works near machinery and resultant dust of construction**Required Licenses and Certifications**Driver's License - Division of Motor VehiclesCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
