Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety testing, calibration, installation, and both routine and emergency service on general diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment.

The role requires 1–2 years of hands-on experience with electronic equipment, an Associate degree preferred, strong English communication, and the ability to work with vendors and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Biomedical Electronics or Electronic Technology preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in corrective and planned maintenance on electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM procedures on multiple types of general and specialized clinical equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations and standards.
• Perform corrective maintenance including diagnosing problems using electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and other related principles and document results.
• Notify users and CTS Management of repair status and delays as needed.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve operational problems and minimize disruption during PM.
• Determine need for parts and submit requests using established policies.
• Complete work orders for corrective and planned maintenance; document actions taken.
• Continually seek process improvements to reduce waste.
• Provide on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below.
