Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide planned maintenance, safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, and service to general diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment as assigned by CTS Manager or Lead BMET.

The role performs PM and CM per manufacturers' guidelines, documents results, communicates repair status, interacts with clinical staff to minimize disruption, and maintains regulatory compliance with OSHA, NFPA,

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Able to follow complex written instructions and use basic hand tools and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Planned Maintenance (PM) procedures on general and specialized clinical equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Execute Corrective Maintenance (CM) and document results to regulatory standards.
• Notify users and CTS management of repair status and delays; minimize disruption to hospital operations.
• Interact with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational issues; ensure timely scheduling of PM procedures.
• Provide on-call service coverage after normal hours on a rotating basis; maintain equipment uptime and safety.
