Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is seeking an experienced electrician to install, maintain and repair electrical systems across the facility. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and ensuring life-safety systems operate reliably.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in electrical maintenance, a valid NC driver’s license, and a preference for electrician’s licensure. On-site work in Fayetteville, NC is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade or vocational training is preferred.
• Electrician's license is preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, test, install, maintain and repair electrical equipment.
• Perform routine rounds to monitor electrical systems and life safety components.
• Repair life safety systems including fire alarm, generators, switchgear, and transfer switches.
• Complete in-service for physical plant, HVAC and life safety systems.
• Participate in performance improvement and information management activities.
• Investigate incidents involving electrical systems and utility components and suggest corrective actions.
• Provide technical assistance to department staff by troubleshooting electrical problems.
• Perform periodic inspections of mechanical/electrical rooms and address deficiencies.
