Construction Job Force in Grandville, MI is seeking an Electrician Foreman. This hands-on role starts on project teams and advances into leading projects, mentoring apprentices and ensuring safe, high-quality installations across HVAC-R and building automation systems.

You will read blueprints, install and troubleshoot electrical systems for commercial/industrial buildings, coordinate materials and schedules, and travel within about an hour of Grandville as needed.

Qualificações

• Valid Journeyman Electrician card.

Job Title: Electrician Foreman

Job Description

This role suits an experienced Journeyman Electrician with a strong focus on HVAC-R and building automation systems who is ready to grow into a leadership position. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain the electrical components of HVAC systems and related controls in commercial and industrial buildings. The position begins as a hands-on installer on a project team and progresses into a foreman role, where you will independently run projects and mentor apprentices while ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient installations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and plans to lay out and install the electrical side of HVAC systems and building automation controls.
• Install electrical power, communications, lighting, control systems, and security systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
• Work as part of an installation team on building automation and HVAC-R projects, then transition into a leadership role overseeing project execution.
• Inspect electrical equipment and systems, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting to ensure proper operation and system reliability.
• Plan and coordinate electrical installations for HVAC systems, including conduit routing, wiring, terminations, and panel work.
• Use design and control platforms such as AutoCAD and building automation tools (including systems like Menta, Vista, Tridium, and Schneider) to understand and support system layouts and configurations.
• Run projects independently, including organizing materials, scheduling tasks, and ensuring work meets codes, standards, and customer expectations.
• Mentor and guide apprentices and less experienced electricians, providing on-the-job training and promoting safe work practices.
• Collaborate with HVAC and building automation teams to integrate electrical components with mechanical systems and control strategies.
• Travel to job sites within approximately a one-hour radius of Grand Rapids/Grandville, with occasional potential for overnight travel as project needs evolve.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including as-built updates, system changes, and service notes.
• Adhere to all safety policies, electrical codes, and industry best practices while maintaining a clean and organized job site.

Essential Skills

• Valid Journeyman Electrician card.
• Journeyman-level experience installing and servicing electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments.
• Previous experience with HVAC and building automation systems, including HVAC-R-focused electrical work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and construction documents to plan and execute installations.
• Proven ability to run projects independently, including planning, coordinating, and completing work with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on experience installing electrical power, conduit, communications, lighting, control systems, and security systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems related to HVAC and building automation.
• Familiarity with platforms and tools such as AutoCAD and building automation systems like Menta, Vista, Tridium, and Schneider.
• Experience working with automation systems and controls, including Honeywell-based solutions.
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to multiple job sites within a one-hour radius.
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements.

• Experience in HVAC-R electrical installations and service in commercial or industrial settings.
• Experience in building automation integration, including control wiring and system commissioning support.
• Comfort using design and documentation tools to review and understand system layouts and control strategies.
• Experience mentoring or supervising apprentices or junior electricians.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with project teams, customers, and other trades.
• Ability to adapt to changing project locations and scopes, including occasional future overnight travel.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position, typically running from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some flexibility in hours to accommodate project needs. Work is primarily performed at customer sites within approximately a one-hour radius of Grandville/Grand Rapids, with the potential for assignments at greater distances as customer needs evolve, which may occasionally require overnight stays. The role is field-based in commercial and industrial facilities, involving hands-on installation and troubleshooting of electrical, HVAC-R, and building automation systems. You will work with tools and technologies such as conduit and wiring systems, control panels, building automation platforms, and design tools like AutoCAD. The environment requires adherence to safety standards, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and coordination with HVAC and mechanical teams on active job sites.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grandville, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
