Aerotek is seeking Entry Level and Skilled HVAC Technicians for local and travel opportunities in Kenosha, WI. You will install ductwork on commercial projects, working with journeyman partners and fabricating on site using hand tools.

This contract-to-hire role offers local work with occasional travel within Wisconsin, a per diem option, and a pathway to advancement in a growing HVAC group. Safety is prioritized on active construction sites, with required PPE and teamwork at the core.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience installing HVAC ductwork.
• Hands-on ductwork fabrication and installation on commercial projects.
• Ability to use hand tools for on-site fabrication.
• Experience working with journeyman-level partners or installation teams.
• Understanding of HVAC systems and duct routing in construction environments.
• Commitment to safety procedures and PPE (hard hat, glasses, steel-toed shoes).

Job Description

This role focuses on installing HVAC ductwork on commercial projects, working alongside experienced journeyman partners. You will fabricate and install duct systems on site using hand tools, contributing to high-quality mechanical installations for a growing contractor with a strong presence in the commercial market.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC ductwork for commercial projects in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

• Use hand tools to fabricate and assemble ductwork on site, ensuring accurate measurements and proper fit.

• Work closely with journeyman-level partners to complete duct installations efficiently and safely.

• Assist with layout, routing, and placement of duct systems to support overall project timelines.

• Inspect installed ductwork for proper alignment, secure connections, and adherence to quality requirements.

• Follow safety procedures at all times, including the proper use of hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.

• Coordinate with project teams and other trades as needed to maintain smooth workflow on job sites.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and organized condition.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience working as an installer of HVAC systems.

• Hands-on experience installing HVAC ductwork, preferably on commercial projects.

• Ability to use hand tools to fabricate and assemble ductwork on site.

• Experience working effectively with journeyman-level partners or within a field installation team.

• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and duct routing in construction environments.

• Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.

• Willingness to work on active construction sites and adapt to changing project needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Service experience in HVAC will be considered and is viewed favorably.

• Commercial HVAC installation experience is preferred.

• Residential HVAC installation experience will also be considered for candidates looking to transition into commercial work.

• Experience with cooling systems, generators, or project coordination is an advantage.

• Ability to collaborate with multiple trades, including electrical and low-voltage teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
