Job summary

Sumter School District seeks an Electrician, Non-Exempt, to maintain and repair electrical systems across district facilities. The position involves installing lighting, wiring, and electrical components, traveling to various sites, and handling equipment such as bucket trucks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required with three years of electrical installation, repair, and maintenance experience.
• Overhead service experience preferred; commercial electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs electrically operated equipment and appliances.
• Evaluates, repairs and modifies complex control circuits, motor control centers, starters, variable speed drives, sewer ejector systems, and well pumps.
• Replaces defective wiring, breakers, and electrical components; installs lighting fixtures and power outlets; wires circuits for air conditioning.
• Travels to job sites, climbs ladders, and operates bucket trucks and other equipment as needed.
• Follows safety procedures and electrical codes; responds to work orders and emergencies.
