Job Summary: Serves as electrician performing the full range of functions in connection with installation modification and or repair of the Navy Exchange electrical systems and electrically operated equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Is required to stand stoop bend kneel climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions where parts of systems worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Frequently lifts carries and sets up tools equipment and parts weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally may lift or carry items weighing over 20 pounds.
Works inside and outside. Subject to contact with dirt and soiling of hands and clothing shocks and burns from high voltage cuts and bruises
One year of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform basic electrical work such as repairing electrical wiring systems and switches etc.
One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
Five years of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform a full range of electrician functions in connection with installation modification and or repair of electrical systems and electrically operated equipment etc.
