Job summary

Guam District Admin seeks a skilled HVAC/refrigeration technician to install, repair and maintain large air-conditioning refrigeration systems in a demanding environment on Guam. The role requires diagnosing complex malfunctions, aligning and testing components, and maintaining safety standards across industrial and domestic units.

Candidates should have five years of specialized experience with refrigeration systems and a valid Universal Technician Certification.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in installation, repair, overhaul, maintenance of industrial and domestic reach-in and walk-in refrigerators and HVAC systems.
• One year of general experience in related field.
• Universal Technician Certification required.

• Diagnoses and repairs air-conditioning refrigeration systems and controls.
• Installs and services HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including reach-in and walk-in units.

Job Summary: Installs and makes repairs to large air-conditioning refrigeration systems.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and locates malfunctions disassembles repairs replaces and or adjust theremostats pressure stats humistats relays switches and other automatic control devices disassembles and repairs compressers and related components services and repairs evaporators condensors and receivers repacks valves replaces electric motors belts and pulleys lubricates moving parts replaces and or cleans filters bleeds systems and replaces refrigerants tests for leaks and for excessive load conditions reconditions modifies and fabricates parts.
• Performs the full range of work involved in the installation repair overhaul maintenance and servicing of industrial and domestic reach-in and walk-in refrigerators installing split HV AC systems walk-in refrigerator and freezer pre-fabricated boxes etc. cold storage and cold room equipment freezers water coolers dehumidifiers air conditioning units and systems and related equipment.

PHYSICAL EFFORT Frequently carries and sets up parts and equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds. Hoist holders and pulleys are operated when removing units such as large compressors condensers and shillers. Makes repairs and installation from ladders scaffolding and platforms where the parts of systems worked on are frequently in hard to reach places. Stoops stretches bends and kneels for long periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed inside and occasionally outside frequently in cramped and awkward positions. Work is frequently dirty and greasy variable temperature occur when working in cold storage rooms is subject to possible injuries such as cuts bruises burns and electrical shock. - Performs other related duties as assigned

GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform a full range of duties in connection with the Installation and repair of air-conditioning refrigeration systems.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Five years of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform a full range of work involved in the installation repair overhaul maintenance and servicing of industrial and domestic reach-in and walk-in refrigerators installing split HV AC systems walk-in refrigerator and freezer prefabricated boxes etc. cold storage and cold room equipment freezers water coolers dehumidifiers air conditioning units and systems and related equipment and current Universal Technician Certification.
