Job Description

We are seeking an electrician to perform a variety of electrical tasks in our facilities. The role requires technical knowledge, safety awareness and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • At least one year of electrical schooling from an accredited vocational school or equivalent military training in the electrical or electronics field, or two years of electrical experience.
  • Pass a written basic electrical aptitude test.
  • Read and interpret basic electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical equipment and components.
  • Perform basic electrical system layout and installations.
  • Source electrical references to determine wire sizing, fuse and overload sizing, and conduit sizing.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of components and terminology related to the electrical field.
  • Participate in the electrical apprentice program and work toward a licensed journeyman electrician level.
  • Work extended hours during peak demand periods.
  • Wire a stop/start panel and M.C.C. bucket so that the device is properly controlled, safely operated and completely functional.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward job assignments and fellow employees.
  • Follow safety procedures, including use of proper personal protective equipment and correct ladder/jumper protocols.
  • Use tools and equipment related to the electrical field properly.
  • Promoteability to additional technical levels.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of electrical experience with LW or three years of industrial electrical experience.
  • Utilize electrical schematics to troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot plant electrical equipment and perform electrical repairs.
  • Understand the electrical feed and distribution system from substation to motor.
  • Perform plant electrical system layouts and installations.
  • Achieve good working reports from plant supervisory staff, leads and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate motivation and willingness toward assigned work with minimal supervision.
  • Direct less experienced technicians during unsupervised periods.
  • Work closely with line mechanics to troubleshoot and perform system analysis.
  • Show eagerness to solve problems and propose long‑term solutions.
  • Draw basic electrical schematics and ladder logic.
  • Perform basic electrical construction tasks: wire sizing, conduit layout, feed/distribution termination, and circuit initiation.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and optimize time to complete all assignments.
  • Possess a journeyman electrician license (strongly preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems and ladder logic programming.
  • Good troubleshooting skills of lower voltage systems and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC power systems and devices.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment.
