Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation in Alaska seeks an Electrician Assistant III to learn and assist a Journeyman Maintenance Electrician, performing duties to support electrical repair and installation in a large seafood processing operation. The role includes a rotation of 3 months at our Alaska shoreplant and 1 month on furlough, with overtime opportunities.

Preferred candidates have 2 years of maintenance electrician experience, OSHA 10, and the ability to read and write English; familiarity with

Qualifications

Two years of experience as a maintenance electrician (level I or II).
Ability to read and write basic English, proficient in basic arithmetic.
Knowledge of and ability to use standard industry hand and power tools.
OSHA 10 training.
Arc Flash and Fall protection training.

Responsibilities

Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
Inspects electrical systems and follows safe working procedures.
