Job summary

Vylor is seeking a Plant Electrician for our York, Nebraska site to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems. You will perform repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on electrical, controls, instrumentation, HMIs, and HVAC systems, supporting capital projects and safety initiatives.

This 100% on-site role requires a valid Journeyman electrical license, willingness to work overtime, and the ability to read electrical drawings and CMMS work orders.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience/education in Industrial Electrician/Maintenance field.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Ability to work on elevated surfaces with fall protection.
• Willingness to work extended/overtime including weekends/holidays.
• Understanding of National Electric Code and electrical safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards and drive risk reduction in maintenance activities.
• Perform electrical repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Electrician to join our company and support our York NE location. As the Plant Electrician, you will focus on ensuring safe and reliable operation of plant electrical systems by performing electrical repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance in compliance with company safety standards. It includes maintaining and improving electrical, controls, instrumentation, HMI, and HVAC systems; supporting capital projects; and recommending safety and process improvements. The position also manages electrical work orders, documentation, and preventive/predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure all work meets company safety standards by leading safe practices, driving risk reduction efforts, and supporting incident investigations
• Support plant operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities
• Create, modify, and close work orders in CMMS along with ensuring accurate documentation of labor and parts allocation
• Provide maintenance support for capital projects while working with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, effective execution, and strong communication across shifts and departments
• Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools
• Utilize predictive maintenance tools to identify emerging equipment issues and develop, update, and train others on effective preventive maintenance plans
• Assist in maintaining detailed equipment records and site/system prints
• Plan and lead project work as needed, working with Operations to ensure maintenance activities are completed without interrupting production
• Maintain Enterprise Asset Management system: ensure work order quality, PM plans, and provide user training/support, etc.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HMI systems using Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE/ME
• Assist in estimating labor and equipment costs, maintain maintenance and repair records, and support the development, installation, inspection, and upkeep of new or upgraded mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ensure operation of company equipment including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC, for process and facility
• Perform electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment, following the prescribed guidelines and procedures
• Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including addition of new devices, and hardware
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• High School diploma/GED.

What Skills You Need

• You have 2 years of experience and/or education in an Industrial Electrician/Maintenance field
• Hold a valid US driver's license
• Willing and able to work on elevated surfaces using fall protection equipment
• Willingness and flexibility to work extended and overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support business needs
• Basic process controls understanding
• Possesses basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and apply mechanical conceptsYou know how to schedule work/ and you are able to follow through to completion.
• You understand and can interpret the National Electric Code
• You have a good understanding of maintaining/repairing, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical power transmission systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication work

Physical Job Requirements

• Stand and sit for extended periods
• Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
• Exposure to dust and plant allergens including but not limited to corn, sunflower, cotton, and canola pollen and protein and sorghum as well as potential mold spores and/or chemicals in the course of your duties
