Job summary

Trillium Construction is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for a large solar installation on commercial rooftops in Wood Dale, IL. The role involves reading blueprints, mounting racking and PV modules, wiring, and ensuring compliance with NEC and OSHA standards.

Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with some Saturday work, ~50+ hours weekly. Experience in solar installations and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings are required. Trillium is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Install PV systems on commercial rooftops and mount racking, solar panels, inverters, and electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and site plans.
• Run conduit and pull wiring per NEC and local codes; make connections to inverters, disconnects, and panels.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain safety and document completed work; coordinate with foremen and other trades.

Trillium Construction is now hiring Journeyman Electricians for a large commercial roof-top solar job in Wood Dale, IL!

Scope of work

• Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on commercial rooftops.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and site plans.
• Mount racking systems, solar panels, inverters, and electrical equipment.
• Run conduit and pull wire according to electrical code requirements.
• Make electrical connections from solar arrays to inverters, disconnects, and distribution panels.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure proper operation.
• Install and terminate AC and DC wiring.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes.
• Work closely with foremen, project managers, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
• Conduct jobsite safety inspections and maintain a safe work environment.
• Inspect and maintain solar equipment as needed.
• Document completed work and assist with project closeout activities.

Monday - Friday, Saturday as needed 7 am - 5:30 pm (50hr+)

Pay: $107.74
