Job summary

LSI Staffing is seeking an Electrician I to join our client’s maintenance team in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and production equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has industrial electrical and maintenance experience, is comfortable troubleshooting equipment, and has some experience working with PLCs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous industrial electrical or maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and components in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with PLC systems; programming or troubleshooting experience is preferred.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrician I to join our client’s maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and production equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has industrial electrical and maintenance experience, is comfortable troubleshooting equipment, and has some experience working with PLCs. This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing environment where safety, reliability, and attention to detail are important.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Inspect and maintain electrical components, wiring, motors, control panels, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Install and repair electrical systems in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic equipment issues and make necessary repairs.
• Assist with the installation, modification, and maintenance of machinery and production equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to help reduce equipment downtime.
• Work with PLC systems and assist with basic PLC programming and troubleshooting under management direction.
• Help identify equipment issues, safety hazards, and needed repairs.
• Assist with ordering and identifying parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance.
• Support equipment installations and other facility maintenance projects as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate equipment problems, safety concerns, and maintenance needs to management.
• Provide support to the Maintenance Supervisor when needed.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous industrial electrical or maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and components in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with PLC systems; programming or troubleshooting experience is preferred.
• Experience with electrical wiring, conduit, cabling, motors, and control equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical information, manuals, and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
• Manufacturing experience, particularly in plastics or textile production, is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas.
• Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, twist, reach, and grasp as needed.
• Ability to operate an automatic forklift.
• Must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
