Job summary

Elyria Foundry and Hodge Foundry in Ohio seeks an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician on first shift to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in a demanding manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance on PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics and HVAC/R, welding with stick, and ensuring safety and reliability with CMMS documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing facilities or industrial environments with electrical maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment using engineering methods.
• Welding and mechanical repair skills are required.
• Experience with CMMS for work orders is highly desirable.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and PLCs is a plus.
• Certified or proven experience as an industrial electrician or industrial mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex machinery using electrical schematics/readings.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems with precision instruments ensuring safety.
• Perform preventive maintenance on PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC/R, and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems and motor controls to identify root causes.
• Document work orders and manage spare parts in CMMS.
• Operate stick welding for fabrication and repair tasks.
• Support equipment upgrades and modifications following safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with high/low voltage safety protocols and safety standards.
• Assist with safe operation of scissor lifts and other equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with team to reduce downtime and improve plant reliability.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team on first shift. Responsibilities

• Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on complex machinery and systems, including electrical blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems using precision measuring instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters, ensuring high voltage and low voltage systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC/R systems, and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems, hydraulic circuits, and motor controls to identify root causes of failures and implement effective repairs.
• Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage spare parts inventory.
• Operate stick welding equipment for repairs requiring welding or fabrication tasks.
• Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications following engineering troubleshooting procedures and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to high voltage electrical work, electrical blueprint reading, and industrial mechanic practices.
• Support the safe operation of scissor lifts and other industrial equipment as needed for maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and enhance overall plant reliability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manufacturing facilities or industrial environments with a strong background in electrical maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical systems including schematics, blueprints, PLCs, HVAC/R systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
• Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters; familiarity with high voltage and low voltage systems is essential.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently using engineering troubleshooting techniques.
• Skilled in welding (stick welding preferred), equipment repair, and mechanical knowledge related to industrial maintenance.
• Experience operating CMMS software for work order management is highly desirable.
• Valid certification or demonstrated experience in industrial electrician work or industrial mechanic roles.
• Strong analysis skills coupled with customer service orientation to effectively communicate technical information to team members.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately; familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
• Physical capability to operate scissor lifts safely; comfortable working at heights when necessary.
